Norman Vincent Peale (1898-1993) was an American Protestant minister and pioneer of the positive thinking movement. Ordained in 1922, he served as pastor of Marble Collegiate Church in Manhattan from 1932 to 1985, attracting thousands of congregants. His book 'The Power of Positive Thinking' (1952) sold over 20 million copies. He co-founded Guideposts magazine and hosted the radio program 'The Art of Living'. He received the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1984.
