Jamie Trevor Oliver, born May 27, 1975 in Clavering, Essex, is a British chef, restaurateur, cookbook author, and television personality. Known as 'The Naked Chef', he rose to fame with the eponymous TV series on the BBC starting in 1999. He has sold over 50 million cookbooks worldwide. An advocate for healthy eating, he has led campaigns to improve school meals in the UK and for a sugar tax on sugary drinks. He founded the Fifteen Foundation to train underprivileged youth for culinary careers. He has received numerous awards, including a BAFTA, an Emmy, and the TED Prize.
