Biography
Epictetus was a Greek Stoic philosopher who lived from approximately 50 to 135 AD. Born into slavery, he gained his freedom and became a teacher of Stoic philosophy in Rome. His teachings were compiled by his student Arrian in the "Discourses" and "Enchiridion". Epictetus emphasized the importance of understanding what is within our control and what is not, advocating for inner freedom and resilience.
