“I am a simple person who lives a complicated life.”
What this quote means
This quote reveals a contrast between the inner self and the outer existence. Eartha Kitt describes herself as simple, but her life is complex. It evokes the distance between our essence and the circumstances around us. It invites us to accept this complexity without losing our simplicity, and to find a balance between the two.
How to apply it daily
Take a moment to identify what in your life is complex and what remains essential. Refocus on your simple values.
