Tina Fey, born Elizabeth Stamatina Fey on May 18, 1970, in Pennsylvania, is a major figure in American comedy. A graduate of the University of Virginia in 1992, she trained at The Second City and iO in Chicago before joining Saturday Night Live in 1997, where she became the first female head writer in 1999. She created and starred as Liz Lemon in the series 30 Rock (2006-2013), which won three consecutive Emmy Awards for Outstanding Comedy Series. Screenwriter of the film Mean Girls (2004) and its Broadway musical adaptation (2018), she published her memoir Bossypants (2011), a New York Times bestseller. Recipient of the Mark Twain Prize in 2010, she co-hosted the Golden Globes with Amy Poehler and produced Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.
