About

Tignous, real name Bernard Verlhac, was a French press cartoonist born in Paris in 1957. Trained at the École Boulle, he began his career in press drawing in 1980 and joined Charlie Hebdo the same year. He contributed to numerous newspapers such as Marianne, Fluide Glacial, L'Humanité, and Télérama. Committed and humanist, he published over a dozen books, including 'Tas de riches' and 'Le Procès Colonna'. A member of Cartoonists for Peace, he was killed during the attack on Charlie Hebdo on January 7, 2015. He was posthumously made a Knight of the Legion of Honour.
