About

Steve Jobs was born in San Francisco and adopted by Paul and Clara Jobs. He dropped out of Reed College but audited calligraphy classes that later influenced Macintosh typography. In 1976, he co-founded Apple with Steve Wozniak and Ronald Wayne, launching the Apple I and later the Apple II, the first successful mass-produced personal computer. Forced out of Apple in 1985, he founded NeXT and acquired Pixar, which produced Toy Story. Returning to Apple in 1997, he oversaw the launch of the iMac, iPod, iPhone, and iPad. He died in 2011 from pancreatic cancer.
