About

Ronald Reagan was born in Tampico, Illinois, and raised in Dixon. After attending Eureka College, he worked as a radio sports announcer before becoming a Hollywood actor in the 1930s. He appeared in more than 50 films, including Knute Rockne, All American and Kings Row. He served as president of the Screen Actors Guild and married actress Nancy Davis in 1952. Governor of California from 1967 to 1975, he was elected president in 1980. His tenure was marked by tax cuts, an anti-communist foreign policy, and the signing of the INF Treaty with Mikhail Gorbachev. He survived an assassination attempt in 1981. In 1994, he revealed he had Alzheimer's disease.
