Robin Williams, born July 21, 1951 in Chicago and died August 11, 2014 in Tiburon, California, was an American actor and comedian. Trained at the Juilliard School, he rose to fame with his role as Mork in the sitcom Mork & Mindy (1978-1982). He won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for Good Will Hunting (1997) and was nominated for Good Morning, Vietnam (1987), Dead Poets Society (1989), and The Fisher King (1991). He also received two Emmy Awards, five Grammy Awards, and six Golden Globes. Notable films include Mrs. Doubtfire (1993), Jumanji (1995), and Aladdin (1992). He co-founded Comic Relief and established a scholarship at Juilliard.
