Robert Guérin (1876-1952) was a French sports journalist, best known as the first president of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA). In 1904, he organized the founding meeting of FIFA in Paris, bringing together representatives of seven nations, and became its first president. He served from 1904 to 1906, during which he proposed the idea of an international football championship, a precursor to the World Cup. He also managed the French national football team from 1904 to 1908. After resigning from FIFA, he retired from football administration and returned to journalism.
