About

Robert Graves was a prolific British writer, known for his war poetry, historical novels, and mythological studies. A veteran of World War I, he wrote a major memoir, Goodbye to All That. He settled in Majorca in 1929, where he wrote I, Claudius and Claudius the God, which brought him international fame. His essay The White Goddess explores the mythical sources of poetry. He served as Professor of Poetry at Oxford from 1961 to 1966.
