Robert Brasillach, born March 31, 1909 in Perpignan and executed by firing squad on February 6, 1945 at Fort de Montrouge, was a French writer and journalist. A former student of the École normale supérieure, he became a literary critic at L'Action française in 1931. During the Occupation, he edited the collaborationist and antisemitic weekly Je suis partout. Author of novels such as Comme le temps passe and Les Sept Couleurs, he also co-wrote a Histoire du cinéma. Sentenced to death for collaboration, he was executed despite a petition from figures like Camus and Mauriac.
