About
Richard Louis Evans (1906-1971) was an American author and religious leader, best known as the announcer and producer of the weekly radio program 'Music and the Spoken Word' from the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, which he hosted from 1930 to 1971. Ordained an apostle of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1953, he also served as editor of the Improvement Era magazine and authored numerous books of spiritual reflection. He served as president of Rotary International in 1966-1967.
