About

Rainer Werner Fassbinder was a central figure of the New German Cinema movement. In less than fifteen years, he directed over forty feature films, television series, stage plays, and radio plays. He co-founded the antiteater group in Munich in 1968. His international breakthrough came with Ali: Fear Eats the Soul (1974). His BRD trilogy, comprising The Marriage of Maria Braun (1979), Lola (1981), and Veronika Voss (1982), is among his most acclaimed works. He died in 1982 in Munich.
