About
Pierre Lemaitre, born April 19, 1951 in Paris, is a French writer and screenwriter. After a career as a literature teacher for adults, he devoted himself to writing full-time. His first novel, Travail soigné (2006), launched the crime series featuring Commander Camille Verhoeven. He won the 2013 Prix Goncourt for Au revoir là-haut, the first volume of the trilogy Les Enfants du désastre, which explores the aftermath of World War I. His works are translated into many languages and adapted for cinema.
