About
Philip Reeve is a British author and illustrator born in Brighton in 1966. He studied illustration at Brighton Polytechnic and Cambridgeshire College of Arts and Technology. In the 1990s, he worked as a freelance illustrator, notably for the Horrible Histories and Murderous Maths series. His first novel, Mortal Engines, was published in 2001 and won several awards, launching the Hungry City Chronicles series. He is also the author of the Larklight trilogy, the Fever Crumb series, the Railhead trilogy, and the Utterly Dark novels. In 2008, he received the Carnegie Medal for Here Lies Arthur. He collaborates with illustrator Sarah McIntyre on illustrated books for younger readers. He lives on Dartmoor with his family.
