Paul Krugman is an American economist, professor emeritus at Princeton University, and op-ed columnist for The New York Times from 1999 to 2024. He received the Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences in 2008 for his analysis of trade patterns and location of economic activity. He is known for his contributions to new trade theory and new economic geography, as well as his writings on financial crises and economic policy.
