About

Parley Parker Pratt (1807-1857) was a leader, missionary, writer, and theologian of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. An original member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles in 1835, he served in major missions, including to Canada, Great Britain, and Chile. He was the first editor of the Latter-day Saints' Millennial Star and authored influential works such as A Voice of Warning and Key to the Science of Theology. He practiced plural marriage and was murdered in Arkansas in 1857.
