About

Pablo Picasso, born in Málaga in 1881, is one of the most influential artists of the 20th century. Son of a drawing teacher, he showed early talent and settled in Paris in 1904. He went through several stylistic periods, including the Blue and Rose periods, before co-founding Cubism with Georges Braque. His committed work, such as Guernica (1937), denounces the horrors of war. Prolific, he explored painting, sculpture, ceramics and stage design. He died in 1973 in Mougins, leaving an immense legacy.
