Og Mandino, born Augustine Mandino II in 1923, was an American author of motivational books. After serving as a bombardier in World War II, he struggled with alcoholism before turning to self-help literature. He worked in insurance and became editor of Success Unlimited magazine. His most famous work, 'The Greatest Salesman in the World' (1968), sold over 13 million copies. He wrote 19 inspirational books and received several awards, including the Napoleon Hill Gold Medal. He died in 1996.
