Nick Cave, born September 22, 1957, in Warracknabeal, Australia, is a musician, songwriter, and author. He first led The Birthday Party (1980-1983), an influential post-punk band, before forming Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds in 1983, with which he has released 18 studio albums, including Murder Ballads (1996), The Boatman's Call (1997), Skeleton Tree (2016), Ghosteen (2019), and Wild God (2024). He is also the author of novels such as And the Ass Saw the Angel (1989) and The Death of Bunny Munro (2009), as well as the non-fiction work Faith, Hope and Carnage (2022). A screenwriter and actor, he has composed numerous film scores with Warren Ellis.
