About
Neal A. Maxwell (1926-2004) was an American religious author and a prominent leader in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. After serving in the U.S. Army during World War II and a mission as a young adult, he earned degrees in political science from the University of Utah. He was a professor and administrator at that university, then held leadership positions in the Church, including Commissioner of Church Education (1970-1976) and as a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles from 1981. He authored about thirty books on religious topics, known for their distinctive alliterative style.
