About
Nassim Nicholas Taleb is a Lebanese-American essayist and statistician, born on September 12, 1960, in Amioun, Lebanon. After an MBA at Wharton and a PhD in management science from Paris-Dauphine University, he worked for over twenty years as a derivatives trader, holding senior positions at Credit Suisse First Boston, UBS, BNP-Paribas, and Bankers Trust. He is best known for his five-volume Incerto series, which explores randomness, uncertainty, and decision-making, particularly in The Black Swan and Antifragile. He was a Distinguished Professor of Risk Engineering at NYU Tandon School of Engineering and has testified before the U.S. Congress on model error and tail-risk exposures.
