About

Murray Newton Rothbard was born in New York City in 1926. He studied mathematics and economics at Columbia University, earning his PhD in 1956. Influenced by Ludwig von Mises, he became a leading figure of the Austrian School. His major work, 'Man, Economy, and State' (1962), systematized praxeology. He developed anarcho-capitalism, arguing that all state functions can be provided by the market. He taught at Brooklyn Polytechnic and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He co-founded the Mises Institute in 1982. He died in 1995.
