About
Michael Clarke Duncan was an American actor born on December 10, 1957, in Chicago. After working as a bodyguard, he made his film debut in Friday (1995). His career took off with Armageddon (1998) and especially The Green Mile (1999), where his portrayal of John Coffey earned him Academy Award and Golden Globe nominations. He later appeared in Daredevil (2003) and Sin City (2005), and lent his voice to animated films. He died on September 3, 2012, in Los Angeles.
