Matthew Perry, born August 19, 1969 in Williamstown, Massachusetts, and died October 28, 2023 in Los Angeles, was an American-Canadian actor. He is best known for his role as Chandler Bing on the sitcom Friends (1994-2004), appearing in all 236 episodes. He received five Primetime Emmy Award nominations, including for Friends and The West Wing. In 2022, he published his memoir, Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing, chronicling his struggles with addiction. He was also honored in 2013 with the Champion of Recovery Award from the White House for his advocacy work.
