About
Martin Short, born March 26, 1950, in Hamilton, Ontario, is a Canadian actor and comedian. With a degree in social work from McMaster University, he began in theater with Godspell before joining The Second City. He gained fame through SCTV, winning an Emmy for writing, then joined Saturday Night Live. His career spans film (Three Amigos!, Innerspace, Father of the Bride), television (Primetime Glick, Only Murders in the Building), and theater, with a Tony Award for Little Me. He is a Member of the Order of Canada and published his memoir in 2014.
