Martin Amis, born on 25 August 1949 in Oxford and died on 19 May 2023 in Florida, was a major British novelist. The son of Kingsley Amis, he rose to prominence in the 1980s with his London trilogy, including Money, and explored dark themes with a virtuosic style. His novel Time's Arrow, about the Holocaust, was shortlisted for the Booker Prize. His memoir Experience won the James Tait Black Prize. He taught at Manchester and was knighted in 2023.
