Laurence Fishburne is an American actor born on July 30, 1961, in Augusta, Georgia. He began acting at age 11 and gained attention at 14 in Apocalypse Now (1979). He won a Tony Award in 1992 for his role in Two Trains Running and was nominated for an Oscar for his portrayal of Ike Turner in What's Love Got to Do with It (1993). He is globally known for his role as Morpheus in the Matrix trilogy (1999-2003) and was the first African American to play Othello in a major studio film (1995). He has also appeared in numerous films and TV series, including Black-ish and CSI.
