Larry the Cable Guy, born Daniel Lawrence Whitney, is an American comedian born on February 17, 1963, in Pawnee City, Nebraska. He rose to fame in the 1990s with his character of a cable installer with a thick Southern accent, popularized on radio. He gained national recognition through the Blue Collar Comedy Tour and voiced Mater in Pixar's Cars franchise. He has released several number-one comedy albums, including The Right to Bare Arms, which was Grammy-nominated. He has also acted in films and hosted television shows. A philanthropist, he founded the Git-R-Done Foundation and made a significant donation to a children's hospital.
