About
Khaled Hosseini is an Afghan-American novelist. Born in Kabul, he grew up in Iran and France before settling in the United States in 1980. Trained as a physician, he practiced as an internist before turning to writing. His debut novel, The Kite Runner (2003), became an international bestseller. He has since published A Thousand Splendid Suns (2007), And the Mountains Echoed (2013), and the illustrated short story Sea Prayer (2018). His books have been translated into numerous languages. He is also a UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador and has founded a humanitarian organization to aid Afghanistan.
