Katherine Maher is an American nonprofit executive and technology leader. Since January 2024, she has served as president and CEO of National Public Radio (NPR). Previously, she led the Wikimedia Foundation from 2016 to 2021, after serving as its chief communications officer. She also served as CEO of Web Summit. Her career includes roles at Access Now, the World Bank, the National Democratic Institute, and UNICEF. She sits on the board of the Signal Foundation and was a member of the U.S. Secretary of State's Foreign Affairs Policy Board. A graduate of New York University in Middle Eastern studies, she is known for her advocacy for digital rights and access to information.
