Jonathan Vincent Voight, born December 29, 1938 in Yonkers, New York, is an American actor. He studied at Catholic University of America and the Neighborhood Playhouse. He made his Broadway debut in 1961 in The Sound of Music. His career took off with Midnight Cowboy (1969), earning him an Oscar nomination. He won the Academy Award for Best Actor for Coming Home (1978). He was also nominated for Runaway Train (1985) and Ali (2001). He has starred in numerous hit films, including Deliverance, Heat, Mission: Impossible, and National Treasure. On television, he played Mickey Donovan in Ray Donovan (2013-2020), winning a Golden Globe. He received the National Medal of Arts in 2019. He is the father of Angelina Jolie.
