Jack Lemmon, born John Uhler Lemmon III, was an American actor renowned for his versatility in both comedy and drama. A Harvard graduate, he began on Broadway before breaking into film with Mister Roberts (1955), which earned him an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.
