About
Henri de Laborde de Monpezat, born in France, married Crown Princess Margrethe of Denmark in 1967 and became Prince Henrik. A career diplomat, he served at the French embassy in London before his marriage. Passionate about literature, he published poetry collections, memoirs, and a cookbook. He was president of Europa Nostra and supported numerous causes. His dissatisfaction with his title of prince consort and his decision not to be buried beside the queen marked his final years.
