About
Helena Petrovna Blavatsky, née von Hahn, was a Russian writer and occultist, co-founder of the Theosophical Society in New York in 1875. She authored major works such as Isis Unveiled (1877) and The Secret Doctrine (1888), which influenced the Theosophical movement. After traveling in India and Europe, she settled in London in 1887, where she founded the Blavatsky Lodge and the Esoteric Section. She died in London in 1891.
