Harper Lee, born Nelle Harper Lee in 1926 in Monroeville, Alabama, was an American novelist. She is best known for her novel 'To Kill a Mockingbird' (1960), which won the Pulitzer Prize in 1961 and was adapted into an Academy Award-winning film in 1962. Lee also assisted Truman Capote with research for 'In Cold Blood'. After the success of her first novel, she led a very private life, giving few interviews. Her second novel, 'Go Set a Watchman', was published in 2015. She died in 2016 in Monroeville.
