About
George Burns, born Nathan Birnbaum in New York City, began performing as a child and formed a legendary comedy duo with his wife Gracie Allen. Their radio show ran for 17 years, and their television series aired from 1950 to 1958. Burns won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in 1976 for The Sunshine Boys, at age 80. He later starred as God in Oh, God! and authored several bestselling books. He died at age 100, leaving a lasting legacy in entertainment.
