Florian Zeller is a French writer and filmmaker born in Paris in 1979. He published his first novel at age 22 and won the Prix Interallié in 2004. A prolific playwright, he won two Molière Awards for Best Play for The Mother and The Father. His family trilogy (The Mother, The Father, The Son) is performed internationally. In 2020, he adapted The Father for the screen, winning the Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay. Elected to the Académie Française in 2025, he is also an officer of the Legion of Honour.
