About

Erwin Schrödinger, an Austrian physicist, was one of the founders of quantum mechanics. In 1926, he published his work on wave mechanics and the Schrödinger equation, which describes the evolution of quantum systems. He shared the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1933 with Paul Dirac. Opposed to Nazism, he left Germany in 1933 and settled in Dublin in 1940. His essay 'What Is Life?' (1944) inspired the discovery of the structure of DNA. He is also known for the Schrödinger's cat thought experiment.
