About
Éric Rohmer, born Maurice Schérer in 1920 in Tulle and died in 2010 in Paris, was a French filmmaker and a major figure of the French New Wave. He served as editor-in-chief of Cahiers du cinéma from 1957 to 1963. His work, organized in cycles (Six Moral Tales, Comedies and Proverbs, Tales of the Four Seasons), explores moral and romantic dilemmas through subtle dialogues. His films, often shot in natural settings, were awarded at major festivals.
