About
Elsa Triolet, born Ella Kagan in Moscow, was a French novelist and translator. After studying architecture, she emigrated to France and married Louis Aragon in 1939. A Resistance fighter during World War II, she wrote under a pseudonym. In 1945, she became the first woman to receive the Prix Goncourt for 'Le Premier accroc coûte deux cents francs'. Her work explores themes of love, memory, and commitment. She died in 1970, leaving a significant literary output.
