About
Édouard Louis, born Eddy Bellegueule in 1992 in northern France, is a French writer. From a working-class family, he was the first to pursue university studies, studying history, sociology, and philosophy at EHESS and the École Normale Supérieure. His debut autobiographical novel, The End of Eddy (2014), achieved international success. His work, influenced by Pierre Bourdieu and Didier Eribon, blends personal narrative with social analysis, addressing themes such as poverty, violence, and masculinity. He has also been a visiting professor at several universities.
