Eckhart Tolle, born Ulrich Leonard Tölle in 1948 in Lünen, Germany, is a spiritual author based in Canada since 1995. After studying in London and Cambridge, he abandoned his doctoral studies in 1977 following an inner transformation. His first book, The Power of Now (1997), became an international bestseller, translated into 69 languages. In 2008, his book A New Earth was selected for Oprah Winfrey's Book Club, boosting his fame.
