The Reverend Dr. Dale Turner (1917-2006) was an American Congregational minister, columnist, and author. After studying at Yale Divinity School, he served as pastor in Lawrence, Kansas, and taught religion at the University of Kansas. In 1958, he moved to Seattle to lead University Congregational Church until his retirement in 1982. He then wrote a weekly column for the Seattle Times until 2004. A progressive voice, he opposed the Vietnam War, supported LGBTQ+ rights, and helped found the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He published several books on spirituality, including Grateful Living and Imperfect Alternatives.
