Dmitry Glukhovsky, born June 12, 1979 in Moscow, is a Russian writer and journalist. He is best known for his post-apocalyptic Metro series, which began with Metro 2033 (2002) and was adapted into successful video games. He also wrote Sumerki (2008), Futu.re (2015), and Text (2019). A journalist for EuroNews, Deutsche Welle, and RT, he speaks several languages. An opponent of Putin's regime, he was sentenced in absentia in 2023 and lives in exile.
