About
Michel Gérard Joseph Colucci, known as Coluche, was born on October 28, 1944, in Paris. After a modest childhood in Montrouge, he gained recognition at the Café de la Gare in the late 1960s. His parody of the TV game show Le Schmilblick in 1975 propelled him to national fame. In 1980, he announced his candidacy for the presidential election, before withdrawing in 1981. He won the César for Best Actor in 1984 for Tchao Pantin. In 1985, he founded Restos du Cœur, a charity that distributes meals to the needy. He died in a motorcycle accident on June 19, 1986.
