Christophe Honoré is a French writer, film director, screenwriter, playwright, and stage director, born on April 10, 1970, in Carhaix (Finistère). After studying modern literature and cinema at the University of Rennes, he moved to Paris in 1995. He began as a critic for Cahiers du cinéma and published children's books with L'École des Loisirs, then novels with éditions de l'Olivier. His first feature film, 17 fois Cécile Cassard (2002), was selected at Cannes. He followed with acclaimed films such as Les Chansons d'amour (2007) and Plaire, aimer et courir vite (2018), which won the Prix Louis-Delluc. In theater, he founded his company Comité in 2016 and directed operas. His work explores family ties, desire, and memory.
