About
Christian Clavier, born May 6, 1952, in Paris, is a major figure in French comedy. Co-founder of the Splendid troupe in 1974, he rose to fame with Les Bronzés (1978) and its sequel. He achieved international success with Les Visiteurs (1993), where he played Jacquouille la Fripouille, earning a César nomination for Best Actor. He portrayed Astérix in two adaptations and triumphed in the series Qu'est-ce qu'on a fait au Bon Dieu ? (2014-2022). Knight of the Ordre national du Mérite and the Légion d'honneur, he is also a screenwriter and producer.
