About

Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie is a Nigerian novelist and essayist. Born in Enugu, she grew up on the campus of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. A graduate of Eastern Connecticut State University, she holds an MA in creative writing from Johns Hopkins and an MA in African studies from Yale. Her debut novel, Purple Hibiscus, won the Commonwealth Writers' Prize. Half of a Yellow Sun received the Orange Broadband Prize in 2007. Americanah was awarded the National Book Critics Circle Award. A renowned TED speaker, she is the author of We Should All Be Feminists and Dear Ijeawele. A MacArthur Fellow and PEN Pinter Prize winner, she divides her time between the United States and Nigeria.
